I recently flew Singapore Airlines flight SQ929 from Surabaya, Indonesia, to Singapore in business class. The flight was scheduled to depart at 7:15 PM, and I arrived at Juanda International Airport at around 4:30 PM.

Check-in and immigration were both exceptionally quick. I was literally the only one passing the security at that time. The international terminal was quiet, likely because there were not many international departures scheduled in the evening. Although there was a reasonable selection of shops, very few passengers seemed to be browsing them, giving the terminal an almost eerie atmosphere.

Singapore Airlines business class passengers had access to the Pranaya Lounge. It was not an exclusive airline lounge, as entry was also available to holders of selected credit cards, while other passengers could pay for access. The lounge was also quiet during my visit.

The lounge is divided into two sections. The larger right wing contains the food and beverage area, while the left wing was completely deserted. The food was surprisingly good, with a decent variety of dishes available. I had to stop myself from eating too much because I wanted to have dinner on the plane.

I also took the opportunity to have a shower, as the flight was scheduled to arrive in Singapore at 10:40 PM. My plan was to head straight to bed after checking into the hotel. The shower facilities were adequate, although the amenities were more limited than those typically offered in premium international lounges.

The flight was operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8. As expected from Singapore Airlines, the cabin crew were excellent. They were warm, professional, and attentive throughout the journey.

The aircraft pushed back from the gate on time. Once we reached cruising altitude, dinner was served. There were three main course options, and I selected the chicken breast. It was beautifully prepared and genuinely delicious.

After landing in Singapore, the walk from the arrival gate to immigration was quite long. Fortunately, immigration clearance was efficient due to the many automated immigration gates available. By the time I reached the baggage-claim area, my suitcase was just appearing on the carousel—perfect timing.

Overall, I was very pleased with the experience. Singapore Airlines, as usual, provided a comfortable and enjoyable business-class journey. Please enjoy the video below.
