Long review

My family and I were back to Mercure Albury. As usual, we arrived by car and it was always easy to find parking within the hotel compound during our stay.

Not much had changed since we visited the hotel last year. The lobby still looked pretty much the same. The lift was still jumpy as well.

Our room was a superior room with 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. The size of the room was around 26 sqm, which was adequate. The room amenities were as expected, although they also provided 2 sachets of chocolate drink, which were appreciated. As a welcome gift, they give a bottle of Shiraz Cabernet.

Looking out through the window, I could see concrete, the Mercure Hotel signage, and a bit of greenery from the tiny garden opposite the hotel entrance. The beds were comfortable. Everything else in the bedroom was also functional. At night, I could hear the lift operating given that the room was placed in front of the lift, but the sound was not overly loud, so it did not really bother our sleep. Wi-fi signal was rather weak though as I had to move closer to the door to get a stronger signal.

Bathroom was clean and functional. I think this is the best way to describe the bathroom. The shower was surrounded by solid walls, so some might feel that it was claustrophobic.

Breakfast was served at the Fabric Restaurant and Bar. Instead of the typical buffet-style breakfast, here we ordered our breakfast from the menu. They had a good range of dishes as shown on the menu below. The taste was satisfactory and the portion was rather generous, so I did not mind this arrangement.

We also had dinner in the same restaurant. We ordered their soup of the day, steak, crispy pork belly, and kids pizza. Again, they were rather enjoyable overall.

The hotel also had a small pool, which we did not have a chance to try. It was fairly busy in the afternoon. The hotel had a guest laundry, which we could use for free. It was useful for us in this occasion. The hotel was located pretty much in the city centre, so restaurants and shopping areas were within a walking distance.

Overall, I had no complaints about our stay. It was a decent accommodation for those who visit Albury. Also enjoy a short video below, showing some highlights of our stay in Mercure Albury.
