Long review
As reflected by its name, Mitchell on Main is located on the main street of Bairnsdale. A KFC restaurant is literally next to the motel, while the centre of the city and the train station are a short walking distance away. My family and I arrived by car. Parking was not an issue during our stay. Check-in was also easy and quick.
The twin room is fairly large at around 41 sqm. It was equipped with 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. The beds were comfortable for me. The kitchenette, which includes a microwave, is useful. The cutlery and mugs provided needed a bit of washing before use though. Wi-Fi was available for free, but the speed was rather slow, and the connection was not stable at times. Due to the poor quality of the internet, sometimes there were difficulties in connecting to the smart TV.
The bathroom is fairly small, but clean and functional, so nothing to complain about on this front.
There is an outdoor seating area that we could access on the back of the room. A nice place to relax, while enjoying the sun. The motel also has a small swimming pool, which is good for kids to splash around. The water was a bit too cold for my liking though.
Despite located on the main road of Bairnsdale, the road was quiet at night. I could, however, hear people revving at night, which woke me up, but fortunately it did not last for long.
Other than these, I have nothing else to say. It is perhaps better than your typical motels out there. If you need to stop by at Bairnsdale, this accommodation is something that you can consider.
